This Cherry Bakewell Cheesecake is a free-from twist on a British Classic!
Indulge in the nostalgic flavours of a beloved British treat — without any weird stuff! This cheesecake was inspired by a conversation with Sophia from my running club. “If only you could make me a cheesecake in my favourite flavours, Cherry Bakewell.” So, off I went to challenge myself and research it. I came back with a wholesome reimagining of the iconic British tart, made to my usual nourishing recipe that doesn’t compromise on taste or texture!
This cheesecake captures the essence of the traditional Bakewell tart — think sweet almond notes, fresh, luscious cherry compote, and a buttery-style base — all in my creamy, indulgent cheesecake format. It’s the perfect dessert for those events where some of your guests have dietary restrictions or they might just be seeking a healthier, more conscious indulgence.

Ingredients:
Cashews, Coconut milk, Cherries, Unrefined icing sugar, Cacao butter*, Raw Agave nectar*, Arrowroot powder, Chickpea brine*, Sunflower lecithin, Lemon juice*, Concentrated sour cherry juice, Vanilla extract, Moroccan Almond extract.
Gluten free, vegan shortbread biscuit base: Unrefined caster sugar, Dairy Free Spread** (Vegetable Oils (Sunflower (21%), Rapeseed, Sustainable Palm), Water, Salt, Emulsifier – E471***, Sunflower Lecithin, Preservative – Potassium Sorbate, Acid – Lactic Acid, B Vitamins (Niacin, B6, B2, Folic Acid & B12), Flavourings, Natural food colours – Annatto, Curcumin), Non-Gluten flour, Flaked Almonds, Guantham Gum.

** Dairy free spread recipe is free from dairy, lactose, gluten and hydrogenated fats or partially hydrogenated fats or fatty acids, and is Vegan Society accredited.

Caution: The nut base contains dates and nuts. Although every care has been taken to remove all fruit/nut stalks/stones/shells, occasionally some may still remain. Please remember that small children can choke on nuts, fruit/nut stalks/stones/shells.

When I receive your order I will call you to arrange a convenient time for delivery, or for you to collect. As it is a perishable product, I will not be able to leave it anywhere where it can't be kept refrigerated. If you're outside of my delivery area, you can collect it from me instead. Just give me a call before ordering so that my site doesn't charge you for delivery!
