These little morsels of deliciousness are finally here! It's taken some time to perfect their rich, indulgent centre, but I guess it takes time to create a masterpiece! Made with just a handful of ingredients, these salted caramel truffles are the ultimate in sinful indulgence, without the sugar crash of their mass-produced alternatives.
So what makes these sinfully indulgent truffles the ultimate treat?
Firstly, they're made with dates, which are naturally sweet and the perfect ingredient to provide the perfect butterscotch flavour in this salted caramel truffle recipe. Dates don't just provide natural sweetness, they're also protein and nutrient-rich and packed with brain-boosting minerals like potassium and magnesium. So, while the dates do contain a high amount of (naturally occurring) sugar, this is balanced by the fibre in them, which prevents a spike in your blood sugars and helps keep them stable.
Then there's the cacao powder, which because it's full of anti-oxidants and mood-enhancing minerals, will leave you satisfied without the need to gorge yourself, sending your chocolate cravings packing!
