An Abundant Life Food as nourishment is a really important part of my business ethos because...it's a really important part of my personal ethos!
That's why I insist on using ingredients as close to natural as possible, and that are both cruelty free and kind to our eco and food systems.
Of course, there is so much more to think about than just the content of the products itself, and with sustainability close to my heart, I've gone to great lengths to source packaging that is either made from recycled materials or that can be recycled or up-cycled.
I personally think we are custodians of this planet, and it is our responsibility to deal with all species with kindness, love, and compassion. Just like the people that love and care for us, the earth gives us all we need to survive and prosper. So just as we would do to our people, we need to treat Mamma Nature with respect. I want to start living on our planet in a way that I know is possible, but that we've sadly seen little of up to now. A way in which there's an abundance of healthy, nourishing food for everyone, and all our basic human needs are met, without environmental exploitation and destruction. Personally, and through my business, I’m trying to be the change I want to see!
I'd really appreciate it if you, as my customer, would recycle, re-use, compost or upcycle my packaging, and sterilise, re-use and / or recycle my glass or plastic containers.
We use 12.5 million tonnes of paper and cardboard every year in the UK*, and so much of this can be recycled and reused again and again. I care deeply about the environment, so please help me do my bit by recycling or reusing the packaging your desserts and treats came in.
Thank You!

Abundance Foods Environmental Packaging Policy and Recycle & Re-use ideas
Truffle Boxes These are made from sustainably sourced food safe board and can be recycled in your green bin. The 6-truffle box lids are made from plastic. Rather than throwing away the plastic lids, both this and the 12-truffle box can be re-used as a storage box with the grid inserts for storing beads, buttons, screws, jewellery, craft supplies, crystals etc.
6-Truffle Box Window & Hamper Cellophane Sadly, these are made from plastic! However, I’m working on finding a source that's at least been recycled already. These can be recycled in your green bin with your other plastic waste. Alternatively, if you’re a crafter, I’m sure you could find a use for them in one of your creations, or you could make something fun with your children. The lid also makes a great storage container on your desk for things like paper clips, rubber bands etc. Cellophane from gift hamper baskets can be recycled in your green bin.
Organza Ribbon, Bows and Shredded Tissue Made from synthetic materials, all these items can be recycled in your green bin. Or you can reuse the ribbon or the bow by using them on the next gift you give to someone! If you’re a crafter, they will look great on a hand-made card or use them to make something fun with your children. To reuse the bow, gently grab the middle of it, give it a little shake, then pull gently on the long cord until it returns to being flat packed. Shredded paper can be used for pet bedding, or would you believe you can make seed starter pots with it – Google it!
Glass Jars These can easily be recycled along with your other bottles at your local bottle bank. They also make great storage containers for herbs, spices etc. Or use them to store your toiletries, like cotton wool or buds. If you do a search on Pinterest for ideas for reusing glass jars, an abundance of ideas will come up. Plastic Pots Made from recycled plastic, these pots are great for keeping leftovers in the fridge, herbs etc. The dishwasher can distort their shape, so hand wash them and you can and re-use them over and over! At the end of their life, they can be recycled in your green bin. If your pot has a green recycle logo on the top of it, it means it’s made from renewable materials sourced from plants. Seagrass Hamper Basket These baskets make gorgeous storage containers for all around the house, for odds and ends, pot pourri, toiletries, make up, socks etc. Try them out inside your wardrobe or even stacked on top. Please donate to a charity shop if you have no use for them. The shredded paper is recyclable and compostable or keep it and use it when you next need to pack and transport fragile items.
Eco Pouches All EcoPack Kraft Paper pouches are 100% compostable (including the re sealable Zipper). Alternatively, you can wipe them out and re-use them to store things like dried herbs in.
